We watch the season pull up its own stage And catch the last weekend of the last week Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced Another sun soaked season fades away. |

Dear Winter, Its your turn now & I feel you. I hope you behave well till you last because to be honest, you're my favourite and I'd hate regrets about you. Please don't be too harsh because I kinda need to hold a pen properly and do the big exams. Could you please send my regards to Autumn? Tell her she was amazing and that the brown leaves were beautiful. They made me happy when I walked home in the evenings. Oh & could you ask Rain not to visit us so often? I'm getting tired of reaching school all wet. Tell Rain to take a chill pill and be easy on the storms yeah? Wind's a disaster, tell her a breeze would be much appreciated. You're pretty lucky I get to celebrate my eighteenth when you're around. So hey if you wanna get me something, just bring along some snow with you & we'll see in mid-June, alright? Love, Your big fan. "A deaf and mute guy went into a hardware store to ask for some nails. He put two fingers together on the counter and made hammering motions with the other hand. The clerk brought him a hammer. He shook his head and pointed to the two fingers he was hammering. The clerk brought him nails. He picked out the sizes he wanted, and left. The next guy who came in was a blind man. He wanted scissors. How do you suppose he asked for them?" So, I lifted my right hand and made scissoring motions with my first two fingers. It'll be hilarious of you're thinking I'm right. :D
I like listening to 96.8fm Live, especially on Sunday afternoons because they play the Top 10 songs for the week. And it reminds me of our Sunday routines back home when we were all together. No UK, no Aussie. We were home, as one. We'd take turns to guess the top song during car rides from the temple to lunch out. I miss that. My Dad's coming over next week and I'm reallyreally so excited (: I miss my brother. Now I won't get to see him in July either because he'll be off to Harvard summer school. It suddenly feels like we're all grown up and moving further apart. Did I mention I always look forward to my weekends? Home made meals, skype conference with the family, moments with the lil cousin & mails to the idiots. My finals are coming up and the pressure is on on onnn. Which reminds me, Ineedtostudyrightnow. Its hard to imagine how different my life would've been if I stayed. Can you?
Yesterday was one of those days I will never forget in a long time. Seriously what does it take to be safe in this place. What I saw, was beyond terrible. And those disturbing images keep coming into my head over and over again. The girl. The bicycle on the road. Books strewn on the road. The cyclist in panic. Crying. Screaming. The blood. Nothing but pure agony. Agony. I went home shaking. Trauma. Be it the girl's fault or the cyclist's fault, both or neither, my fellow college mate was on the road lying in a pool of blood trembling in pain, and I was the only soul around. I had to help. I think I freaked my Mum out a bit, but I needed to tell someone. It was too much to keep within. Way too much. I thought about the girl all day, all night. I was right there, watching all of it happen. I watched the accident. I swear its nothing like watching it on the news or reading it in the newspapers. Today morning I woke up telling myself the girl is alright. The girl is alright. Yesterday, my friend got robbed. They took everything from her, from passport to school books. All of it. I asked her if they were armed and she broke down so badly telling me she didn't know but she didn't wanna risk it either. I could almost see the fear in her eyes. I don't even wanna imagine what it would've been like. She didn't come here to be making trips to the police station to file in complaints or to the bank to cancel her credit cards. She came here to study. Just like..me. I cannot pretend to be all brave and old, because I'm not. I'm not superhuman dammit. Punch me it hurts. I'm vulnerable. I'm insecure. Weak, and young. I don't know what it feels like to be safe anymore. It took me just a day to really shake me. Take me home.
Today marks the official end of my exams. Anyone interested in laughing gas? (: I think I'm gonna start preparing for my finals. Not because I'm a nerd, but because I don't wanna repeat semesters and end up being stuck here any longer. That would be tragic :/ This is quite a pointless entry, probably because I'm keeping ninety nine percent of my thoughts to myself. Gah. It is 12 degrees Celcius. Calling for strong bodied people to keep me warm.
